DIY Felt Charger Caddy

This easy project will help organize your charger mess:

What you need:

  1. Felt (thicker the better)
  2. Scrapbooking brads (they look like nailheads but have two “legs” that you can split)
  3. Small hole puncher
  4. Ruler, paper, pencil, scissors

Step 1: Make a paper prototype of your box template – a simple round-corner square or rectangle. In your measurements, include the base size, and height of the walls of your box. For this project, my base is 7 x 3 inches, with a wall height of 1.5 inches. Flat that’s 8.5 x 4.5 inches. Find a curved object to trace a rounded corner. I used this little Pacman tin.

Step 2: In each corner, draw a diagonal line from the corner, to the point where your base starts, and cut.

Overlap the corners to lift the walls and make your box. Make a small hole punch in the overlapping corners. Your template should look like this:

Step 3: Once you’re happy with your prototype, repeat the process on your felt. I used pinking shears on the felt to have a zig zag edge.

Step 4: Fold in the corners and lock with the brads. I used these pink heart ones. You can get these in National Bookstore.

And it’s ready for use!
