Frozen fruit snacks to beat the heat

The freezer is your friend this summer. Fruits are a refreshing (and healthy) alternative to ice cream. Here are two frozen fruit snacks that you can easily whip up yourself.

Snack #1: Frozen Grapes + Cottage Cheese

Grapes and cheese have always been great together. But frozen grapes and cold cottage cheese – even better! You get sweetness from the grapes, now with a yummy ice-drop texture, and savory from the cottage cheese topped with cilantro leaves.

Snack #2: Avocado Ice Drops

I notice that our avocados ripen so quickly when its hotter. So they won’t spoil, I decided to make them into ice drops.

  1. Mash 1 avocado in a bowl
  2. Mix in 1 teaspoon of condensed milk (optional)
  3. Place the mixture into an ice tray
  4. Add toothpicks as a handle (optional)
  5. Freeze

Here are the bite-size frozen avocado ice drops!

On a separate note…

I tried food art! It’s not frozen but since we’re talking about food anyway:

Look at what cookie cutters and craft-punched seaweed sheets can do:

Bon apetit!
