Today I want to share with you snippets of my wonderful weekend. I needed this break so badly since it’s been a bit tough lately.
The best way to recharge is to spend it at the beach with people you love. It’s also our first out-of-town trip with my adorable year-old nephew.
We stayed at Balai Resort in San Juan, Batangas. One of the part owners is my brother’s good friend and neighbor. He accompanied us on the 2.5 hour trip from Paranaque to the resort. This isn’t your typical resort, because it is also a palaisdaan (fishery).
This makes for nice views and super long bridges made of wooden planks which adds to the rustic feel of the place. This also means that rooms are separate from the beach and clubhouse (Not like in Boracay where you hear the partying in your resort lobby/bar). Most rooms can house up to four, and the whole place can accommodate up to 100 people. This is also a pet-friendly resort. How awesome is that?! Next time Biscuit is coming.
There is also a quaint chapel which I could not stop taking pictures of.
And an airy yoga deck where we had fresh coconut juice and took naps.
Look at all the pretty flowers…and chili peppers!
The beach is simple, but with gorgeous tree trunk stumps. You can play volleyball, go kayaking and fishing, and have late-night bonfires. Too bad we didn’t bring any marshmallows to roast.
We had yummy buffet meals, that you take on the 3rd floor of the clubhouse. We had seafood curry, tinola, eggplant parmigiana, pork barbecue, fried chicken, tilapia, leche flan, guinataan. You can also swim in the pools by the clubhouse.
Videos and editing done all on the iPhone, with iMovie. Family, I hope you enjoy watching it. 🙂
